As I was browsing through pictures looking for what image i could use for my essay, I came across quite a few pictures of 3D artwork that’s actually drawn with chalk on sidewalks. The person who took this picture is trying to show how imaginative some artists are. I think it’s very difficult to draw something like this and make it look so realistic. There are many 3D images that look a lot better, but i liked this one in particular because of the little girl standing on the edge of the building. I find it funny how she bends over as if she was trying to look down from the top of the building. It left me wondering how realistic these drawings may be.

WEEK 10 REBLOG
When I look at this picture it reminds me of sociology. The little girl standing on the edge because to her it looks like if she walks any further she might fall in! The age that children learn depth perception is like toddler, and this girl is young, I’m not sure exact age. This chalk drawing is very elaborate. The artist did a spectacular job! I really had to look at this picture for a few seconds to figure out it was not real. I think this will make a great paper!

I think that this drawing had a lot of work put into it. At the top it shows certain clothing companies and many skyscrapers. The most funny thing I observed was the little girl standing on the drawing and looking down as if it was real. It shows how young and naive children are today. They will believe almost anything that anyone tells them and that is supported by her looking down upon the picture. Another thing I believe the artist was trying to convey is how people do not really notice things in life. People have to make bold statements if they want something to be noticed or to be taught.

Week 11 Sierra Reblog:
This is a really cool picture. All the different colors and the 3D is amazing. I like the logo’s because it gives it a new york feel. The little kid is looking down like she wants to dive in all the coolness. I see little cars at the bottom and streets. Im thinking this is meant to be New York, or mabye a major city. The 3D is unique because i havent seen alot of paintings in 3D. All in all great picture with lots of texture, and so on!

So when I first saw this I thought the little girl was standing in one of those glass boxes that are at the very top of a building. I love how the little girl is at the edge looking down at the drawing. Like the people before me have mentioned the photographer is making the viewer how the sidewalk art is so realistic that even people can be confused for a little moment that the y have to take a closer look. I love how the picture sort of sucks you and it makes you feel like you are inside an actual crystal box looking down at that image.

 Week 11 Reblog
I love this picture! I went to New York to stay with my aunt 2 years ago, and the most insane “chalk walk” artist that specialize in this type of illusion art work were in the down town area making these amazing landscapes on the walk that were cracked in the pavement making it seem like you would fall in. One picture I saw where it had a Lord of the Rings scenery cracked in the pavement and the artist said it was “Middle Earth” making a play on play of words. These amazing artists get so much tourist recognition but never from the art world. The amount of time and thought process to make these kinds of paintings take so much time and it takes so long to do it also that you think there would be more appreciation for this amazing paintings.

 Week 11 Re…Blog
Everytime I see a picture of one of these thing they freak me out.  I don’t mean badly.  It’s just strange to see such a vivid picture in a place so unexpected.  It’s as though you’re walking with your feet on solid ground, and then you’re suddenly falling from the top of a building with nothing to stop you.  Where the kid is standing helps to enforce the sense of depth and reality, as if you really can peer down to the streets below and be wary of the fall.

Week 11

I love seeing something like this.  People who make their work enjoyable to themselves, their co-workers, and their customers.  I have worked several jobs over a period of a few years and have come to strongly believe that no one person can make your work suck more than you yourself.  I think this video is a great example of taking what you have to do, and mixing that with what you like to do.  This video is a good reminder to keep things from becoming complacent and monotonous.

LOL.  I thought the people watching this movie were hilarious!  I went with a friend to see this and we laughed the entire time.  Everyone was so on-edge it was almost comical.  The movie was ridiculous too.  Everyone in the theater screams when… a door moves?  When they see a shadow?  Come on people.  The noises you are hearing are those damned Keebler Elves.  The acting was great, and it was entertaining, but also little over-hyped.  And… they never checked under the bed! Idiots!

Week 7

Last week I went and saw Paranormal Activity in theatres and I literally was gripping the seat I was so scared. It was really intense. The movie is about a girl who is haunted by something in her house and she cannot ever get away from it. Every night it shows up in their house and something creepy happens. The writer did a very good job at portraying the creativity and scariness of this movie. It differs from most other scary movies and it really freaked me out. I was even thinking about it almost the rest of the day. I suggest everyone go and see it!

 W7 Reblog

I decided to re-blog kristas-09 post because I actually saw Paranormal Activity twice! And it was still scary both times. I loved the movie and I’m considering buying it when it comes out on DVD. This really was a different type of horror movie because when you think of scary movies, you think of slasher films or some serial killer breaking into your home and there is nowhere to escape or something really bloody and gory, but this movie was definitely different and actually believable and I suggest that those who have not seen it, should really see it because it’s not a waste of money!

This is a picture of a secret Swedish WW2 bunker/power plant.  It was for supporting the infrastructure to military installations during an invasion if the main power plants were taken or destroyed.  As a bomb-proof, hidden, well-stocked, underground river cooled, and expensive bunker, it never needed to be used.  There were fifty of these things built as a securtity measure for the nation.  Looking at things like this makes you wonder about what things are kept hidden today.  There’s a lot of things left undiscovered or hidden that we probably will never know of.  It’s neat to think of.

I was let down by the UNT Bonfire event Friday night.  I expected it, but still…  It was decently attended, and there was some good entertainment accompanied by some much more awful entertainment.  It was good to see some school spirit though.  Not many people get to have a freakishly huge bonfire to celebrate with.  That thing really capped the entire thing (UNT BONFIRE, duh).

This is a video clip of a pep rally that happened last week in the student union. It started the beginning of the interesting homecoming week that we would soon have. I think that in this video clip the author or person that did the recording, was trying to convey to its audience a since of school spirit and pride. Everyone was in our school colors performing and playing our school song, while others attended to support the performers. They did this by picking a place convenient to everyone. A lot of students attended this event, I think it was the perfect place and act to start homecoming.

I saw this and thought it was fascinating.  I love the Time Warp stuff and seeing things we aren’t able to notice with the blind eye.  It’s neat seeing the reactions and trying to guess how fast or how powerful what you’re watching is.  This video really shows quite a bit.  Couldn’t get into the music, but, still, it’s a neat vid.

wk 2? (9/27) My sister and her friend showed me this and I didn't think it was funny at all... But, my girlfriend laughed till she cried and then some more. When I watched it the first time I saw the table and guessed what was going to happen. It's weird being in a flipped postition from the norm. My girlfriend laughs at someone who flips backwards on a table, and there I am feeling sorry for the girl. It's funny to everyone I know, but somehow doesn't get to me at all...

Omg! My roommate showed me this video the other day and I thought it was hilarious. Every since I saw it, I haven’t been able to stop laughing. I was watching it and really thought it would make someone else’s day. I actually felt bad for her afterwards, for experiencing that terrible fall. Many people thought this was planned, but there is a part two where she says that it was not planned. I really don’t know too many people who would want to hurt themselves for attention or to make others laugh. This just goes to show that she was obviously to into the song to pay attention to what she was doing.

Something Neat to Check-out (Sept. 27 / Week 2?)

Saw this while surfing the web.  Thought it was really incredible that these places are just out there, left alone, and inhabited by no one.  Why did people leave?  Is there something being hidden there?  Was there some sort of tragedy?  There’s just a lot of mystery to these places and they let you in on something different from anything we (generally those from suburbia) experience.

Anyone like a good fight over the economy? I've personally been hearing tons of people talking about one thing, complaining about another, and all of them agreeing on the fact that it plain sucks right now. One of the biggest things I've been hearing of is the bailout. Thought I'd just agree with everyone and post this. Feedback???
Mt. Kilimanjaro, or the summit rather, is a dream spot and future destination of mine.  I’m currently organizing a trip to get overseas and up the mountain.  It’s a little bit of a mess getting the $ for it, but there’s still more than a years time to make that.  Anyone else climbed before?
